RICHMOND, British Columbia — A Vancouver pee wee hockey coach will spend 15 days in jail for tripping a player during a postgame handshake, ESPN reports.
The incident, which was caught on video, shows Martin Tremblay, 48, sweeping out the leg of an opposing player while the two teams shook hands.
Two players, a 10-year-old and a 13-year-old, fell to the ice.
A judge said he wasn’t satisfied with the former coach doing community service, so he threw the book at him.
Tremblay’s attorney said he wouldn’t appeal the charges.
