Police to Patrol Schools During Possible Strike

STRONGSVILLE, Ohio — The Strongsville Police Department announced on Wednesday that it is prepared to “assist in the safeguard of all public schools” during an anticipated teachers strike.

If a contract agreement is not reached, Strongsville public school teachers plan to hit the picket line on March 4.

Specific details about negotiations were not made public, but working conditions and salaries were among the issues.

The Strongsville Police Department said it met with school officials and teachers union representatives to talk about expectations of safety.

Officers will be posted at all school facilities during the strike.
