Canton Police Investigate Deadly Shooting

CANTON, Ohio — An autopsy will be performed on a 41-year-old Canton man who was killed on Saturday.

The Canton Police Detective Bureau confirmed Roosevelt Newell, Jr. was shot in the upper leg around 2:15 a.m. outside the Friendly Corner Tavern on Harrison Avenue SW.

He died at Aultman Hospital roughly six hours later.

An arrest warrant was issued for a 29-year-old whose last known address was in Columbus.
