CANTON, Ohio — Two teenage parents accused in the death of a newborn baby have been cleared of their charges.

Allyce Bryant and John Dallas faced several charges after the death of Bryant’s newborn, who was delivered at home on July 8, 2012. Police were called to her home after being alerted by her father, who told dispatchers the baby wasn’t breathing and that he didn’t know his daughter was pregnant.

Dallas was charged with complicity to commit child endangering and complicity to commit involuntary manslaughter. Bryant was charged with child endangering and involuntary manslaughter.

Bryant and Dallas were students at Alliance High School at the time. Both originally entered ‘not true’ pleas at their arraignments last fall.

Judge Jim James heard their cases this week, and the charges were dropped Thursday, according to court documents.
