CLEVELAND — A woman who was struck and killed by an accused drunken driver on Tuesday has been identified by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Candase Moore, 25, was walking along East 142 Street and Kinsman Avenue when she was hit by a pickup truck, just after 4 p.m.

Moore was taken to Meridia South Pointe Hospital, where she later died.

According to Cleveland police, Nicholas Carter, the 33-year-old man driving the pickup truck, stayed on the scene after the accident. However, while on scene, he reportedly threw a liquor bottle out of his truck and onto a snow bank.

Officers said he appeared to be intoxicated and arrested him.  Carter was later charged with aggravated vehicular homicide.

A court hearing was scheduled for Thursday at 8:30 a.m.
