ELYRIA, Ohio — St. Mary School in Elyria will be closed Wednesday because so many members of its faculty and student body are sick.

According to a notice sent by the school’s principal, Sharon Brunkow, classes will resume on Thursday.

The notice asked parents not to send children to school if they are experiencing a severe sore throat, vomiting or fever above 100 degrees.

Some students were complaining of stomach-aches along with symptoms that could be an indication of strep throat, the notice states.
