JACKSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio — The driver of a car that struck two women late Sunday night then left the scene, had a change of heart after the crash, Jackson Township police said.

Investigators say three women were walking eastbound on Portage Street at around 11:30 p.m., when two of them were struck by a dark car between Whipple Avenue NW and Pittsburgh Avenue NW.

Both women were taken to a local hospital for what was described as non-life threatening injuries. The third woman was not hit by the car.

The female driver drove off after the crash, then later called police to give her information, Jackson Township police told Fox 8 News.

She has not been arrested or charged in the accident.

The crash remains under investigation.
