Akron Bank Robbery Suspect on Loose

AKRON, Ohio — Akron police are searching for the suspect in a Monday morning bank robbery.

Police said it happened at about 10:30 a.m. at First Merit Bank, 1060 Kenmore Blvd.

The suspect entered the bank and handed the teller a note demanding money. Police said the suspect then fled north from the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police said no gun was seen.

The suspect is described as being in his 30s, around 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighing between 175 and 180 pounds. He was wearing a black knit hat, black pea collar, black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black gloves.

Anyone with information is asked to call Akron police.
