ATHENS– Classes at Ohio University in Athens were cancelled Wednesday, after an armed fugitive was spotted in the vicinity of the campus.

The president of Ohio University decided to close the campus as a precautionary measure.

All students were asked to return to their residences and all non-essential employees were asked to return home.

Officials say classes and normal work activities will resume Thursday at their normal times.
