Portion of Road Reopens After Accidents

CLEVELAND –Two separate car accidents caused a stretch of I-71 to close on Friday evening.

Cleveland police dispatchers confirmed the northbound lanes near West 150th Street were closed after a car crashed into a pole.

It happened around 7 p.m. and trapped people inside.

That section of the highway was later reopened.

Brook Park police dispatchers said there was also an accident at the I-71 / I-480 split.

The northbound lanes of I-71 were initially closed at Snow Road.  As of 11 p.m., only the left northbound lane remained closed.
