CLEVELAND — In most businesses nowadays, customers are expected to put down the phone before receiving service.  Some even post this rule near the counter.

In addition to ignoring the law, a suspected bank robber apparently ignored that largely-universal policy during a job in Cleveland on Thursday.

According to the Cleveland FBI, the man passed a note to the teller that said he had a weapon.

It happened at the PNC Bank on Pearl Road around 10:13 a.m.

Surveillance video showed him holding what looked like a cell phone to his ear.

The man is about 5′ 8″-5′ 9″ with a medium build and possibly in his thirties.

He was wearing large dark-frame glasses and a bomber hat.

Anyone with information should call the Cleveland FBI at (216) 522-1400 and may remain anonymous.

Reward money is available for the tip that leads to the man’s prosecution.
