From texting to putting on makeup to talking on the phone, distracted driving is a huge problem.

One woman wants her story heard after she was in an accident in Virginia that left her seriously injured in 2008.

24-year-old Amanda Kloehr, from Pennsylvania, says she hit the back of a tractor-trailer, after texting and playing with her phone.

Kloehr says she had to have over 20 surgeries to repair her face. She lost an eye and had to learn how to walk again.

A Department of Transportation report shows that sending or receiving a text takes a driver's eyes off the road for nearly five seconds. At 55 MPH, that's driving the length of a football field.
