Fox 8's Stefani Schaefer on Monday provided an update on her husband's condition.
Last April, Roger fell from scaffolding and suffered a traumatic brain injury.
Since then, he's made great strides in his recovery, but also had his setbacks.
Stefani said he's currently battling an infection that doctors are aggressively treating with antibiotics.
It's been a hard road for Stef and her family. Eight months after the accident, Stefani says, "It's not any easier."
Support and love from family and friends has helped lift her through the difficult times.
Stefani recently drew strength from Phil Hlabse, 60, of Chardon. He's an amputee training to walk across America to promote child welfare.
Hlabse made Stefani a cross servant necklace, which she displayed Monday morning on Fox 8 News.
