BROOKLYN– Police in Brooklyn are looking for a man believed to have stolen charity boxes from several different places.

Police say the man came into Dairy Mart on Memphis Road on Jan. 4. They say he laid his jacket over the charity box and cut the twine connecting it to the counter, then walked away with it hidden under his jacket.

The charity box had donations for one of the Dairy Mart clerks, who had lost her house in a fire.

Police say there were several other incidents where charity boxes were stolen; including at McDonald’s at Brookpark and Tiedeman Roads. The suspect is accused of taking the Ronald McDonald charity box.

That incident happened Dec. 22.
