CLEVELAND -- Two men are under arrest for robbing a Cleveland grocery store by ramming a pick-up through the front doors early Wednesday morning.

Surveillance video from inside the Sav Mor on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Cleveland shows the two men slamming the pick-up truck into the front doors of the market, over and over again.

"They went in there first, then they couldn't get all the way in. They reversed, then put it back in drive and rammed it in there again, three or four times before they went all the way into the store. Caused a lot of damage, a lot of damage," says Saeed Dawud the owner’s son.

The early morning robbery happened just before the store opened up at 6am, so no one was inside when the pickup came slamming through.

The owners of the Sav Mor say the thieves took cigarettes, cell phones and made a mess of the place. They believe one of their loyal customers called police because the thieves were caught so quickly.

"Somebody in the area, probably a customer, called. Very good customer of ours, they called it in, I think, and then they caught them right down the block," says Dawud.

Store owners say they are very thankful for the officers’ rapid response and capturing the suspected drive-thru robbers.

"The officers, the police department, 4th district Cleveland, I want to thank them for what they did and their effort. Me and my family want to give them a big thank you!" says Saeed.

No one was hurt in the robbery but the thieves caused more than $8,000 worth of damage. The store remains open while the owners clean up and make repairs.
