NEW YORK– The NY Jets have fired their offensive coordinator, Tony Sparano.

The New York Times reported Sparano’s inexperience in play-calling and developing quarterbacks doomed a unit that ranked 30th in the NFL.

The Times reported the move was surprising, because the Jets waited nine days after a season-ending loss at Buffalo.
