Geese, Ducks Killed and Dumped in Metroparks
BENTLEYVILLE, Ohio — The Ohio Department of Natural Resources is looking for information about who killed up to 30 Canada geese and as many as 10 mallards, then dumped them along the Chagrin River.
The grim discovery was made Wednesday afternoon after someone called the Division of Wildlife complaining of several dead waterfowl species in the South Chagrin Reservation of the Cleveland Metroparks.
That’s where, investigators say, the birds were found with their necks broken.
A wildlife officer noticed faint tire tracks in the snow, but has yet to find any suspects.
For now, officials are investigating the incident as a littering complaint.
Anyone with information should call the Division of Wildlife.
