LAKEMORE, Ohio — When officers went looking for a suspicious person in Lakemore Wednesday morning, they found more than just the suspect.

Springfield Township police say they were called to the Tri-County Plaza on Canton Road at around 4:30 a.m.

That’s where they encountered 33-year-old Daniel Beaver, of Springfield Township. He told the officers he had been waiting for a cab for more than a half hour and asked them for a ride home.

Before the officers gave Beaver a lift, they searched him, and found a woman’s purse stuffed inside his coat.

Police say Beaver took the purse from someone at a local gaming room.

He was booked into the Summit County Jail on charges of receiving stolen property, drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia.
