Browns: Both Quarterbacks Injured

CLEVELAND– The Browns had both their first and second string quarterbacks among the missing Wednesday, when the team began drills for the final game of the season in Pittsburgh.

Brandon Weeden,went out of the game Sunday with a shoulder injury, and on Monday the team revealed quarterback Colt McCoy also suffered a shoulder injury late in the loss up in the Mile High City.

Both quarterbacks did not take part in drills. The Browns promoted Thad Lewis from their practice squad and he took the first team reps in practice on Wednesday.

They also signed free agent QB Josh Johnson.  He was a fifth round pick of the Tampa Bay Bucs in 2008.

McCoy came in for Weeden in the third quarter on Sunday and was sacked 4 times in the loss. He’s believed to have suffered the injury on the last play of the game.

Also on Monday, the Browns placed safety Usama Young on injured reserve and signed to the practice squad Jordan Mabin.  He is a former star at Nordonia High, and Northwestern University product.
