Police Identify Victim in Deadly Home Invasion

CLEVELAND –The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner has identified the man shot and killed during a home invasion, Saturday night.

Cleveland Homicide detectives are searching for two suspects in connection with the shooting that killed 25-year-old Dontel J. Shelley, Sr.

Police responded to the 600 block of East 99th Street around 6:45 p.m. When officers arrived, they found Shelley with gunshot wounds to the head, neck and chest.

He was later pronounced dead by EMS on scene.

Witnesses say two males entered the victim’s home, then fled after the shooting. It is unknown if one or both suspects shot the victim. One suspect is described as a male wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and had a beard.
