SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio — Funeral arrangements have been made for two people who died in a Shaker Heights house fire just one week before Christmas.

Visitation for Jance and Mary Paige Reynolds will be held on Friday, Dec. 28 from 5-7 p.m. at the Brown-Forward Funeral Home on Chagrin Boulevard in Shaker Heights.

A memorial service will follow on Saturday at 10 a.m.

The fire started early Tuesday morning in the all-brick colonial home on Daleford Road in the Fernway neighborhood.  A 911 call was made at 4 a.m., and crews were on the scene by 4:05 a.m.

On the call you hear a man screaming for family members to “Jump! Jump!”

Five got out and two did not, including the father.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office on Wednesday said the deceased were Jance Reynolds, 62, and Mary Paige Reynolds, 18.

They both died from smoke inhalation.

Neighbors didn’t know much about the family since they just moved in around Halloween.

Two firefighters suffered minor injuries. They say this fire was so big and hot, had it not been an all-brick home, it would have caught the neighbors’ houses on fire as well.

The cause remains under investigation.
