MONTVILLE TWP. — Police say two people were injured, after a school bus was involved in an accident with two other vehicles Friday morning.

Police tell Fox 8 News the collision happened around 7:20 this morning, at the intersection of State Route 57 and Poe Road in Montville Township.

Investigators say the bus, from the Medina County Achievement Center, was empty except for the driver and an aide. They were not hurt.

A car and semi truck were also involved in the crash. Both drivers were removed from their vehicles with the jaws of life. The driver of the car, James Sell, 53, of Wadsworth, was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center for treatment where he was listed in critical condition.

The semi driver, Thomas States, 69, of Brunswick, was transported to Akron General Medical Center where he was listed in serious condition.

It’s not clear what caused the crash, but police report the roads were snow-covered at the time.

The intersection is expected to be closed for several hours, as police investigate.
