LORAIN, Ohio — A dog found neglected and abused got a very important health check-up Wednesday.

Herbie, a pit bull mix, is receiving treatment for a cataract. He was found emaciated on a lawn on W. 11th Street in Lorain December 1. Other than that, his keepers at the Lorain Animal Clinic say his health is improving and he enjoys walking around the clinic.

The Humane Society is offering a $5,000 reward for tips leading to the arrest of those responsible for abusing Herbie.

“Justice for Herbie” has also set up a reward for an arrest and conviction.
