A couple of Northeast Ohio cities have made a not-so-flattering list.

Forbes compiled a list of America’s 20 Dirtiest Cities, and both Akron and Cleveland are on the list.

Akron comes 15th on the list; while Cleveland is 19th.

Forbes says to determine the dirtiest cities, they identified which metro areas showed up on both lists for poor water quality and air quality.

They also looked at EPA data on the big cities with the most toxic releases and the American Lung Association’s State of the Air report.

According to the list, America’s Dirtiest City is Fresno, California.
