MENTOR, Ohio — Four people, including a baby and a 3-year-old, were injured after a car crashed through their home, trapping them inside.

According to the Mentor Fire Department, crews responded to the house in the 7000 block of Comanche Trail around 3 a.m.

The Mentor Police Department said a 1991 Mercury Grand Marquis was traveling at a high rate of speed on Iroquois Trail. The vehicle went into the yard of the home and crashed into the house.

An 18-month-old child was freed from the home first and taken to Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital.

The conditions of the victims are unknown, according to police.

The children’s mother had minor injuries and was treated and released from the hospital.

Two people who were in the car were taken to the Mentor Police Department.

The crash remains under investigation.
