NEW YORK — Horrified onlookers watched as a man was pushed onto subway tracks, then failed to pull himself to safety before he was fatally struck Monday afternoon.

According to the New York Post, Ki Suk Han, 58, was hurled onto the tracks by a deranged man with whom witnesses said he argued minutes before his death.

Witnesses shouted and frantically waved their hands in a desperate attempt to get the conductor of the downtown Q train to slow down.

Freelance photographer R. Umar Abbasi also sprung into action, repeatedly snapping photos so his flash would alert the train operator. In the process, Abbasi captured the chilling moments as Han struggled for his life.

The train slowed, but it wasn’t enough. Han was caught in between the train and the platform.

A doctor on the platform rushed to his aid, but he died hours later at a hospital.

Now, police are looking for the suspect who pushed Han to his death. Witnesses describe the man as a panhandler who had been harassing strangers before encountering Han.

Han, according to some onlookers, had been trying to calm the man down.
