PARMA, Ohio – Hundreds of eager shoppers rushed into the Parma Toys 'R' Us when the doors opened promptly at 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.

“It’s chaotic,” said one hurried man as he dashed down the aisles.

Another shopper described it as “pandemonium.”

It’s not quite Black Friday. We can call it Gray Thursday. It’s the in-between time from humbly giving thanks for what we have, to fanatically buying things we probably don’t need.

“A 50-inch TV,” said someone camping out in line for the Parma Target to open.

Gray Thursday is like a gray zone when it comes to holiday shopping because only select stores open their doors this early.

Mind you, these aisles, on this day, are no place for amateurs. You see the prize. You grab it and don’t look back.

“I look on blackfridayads.com and I write down everything I need and get what I need and get out,” Kevin Morrow.

The hot items at the Parma Toys 'R' Us include Legos and electronics.

The season of giving comes later. Let’s face it.  For the next few weeks it is the season of grabbing.
