CLEVELAND — A Mentor man was charged with carrying a concealed weapon after police said a loaded gun was found in his carry-on bag at Cleveland Hopkins Airport.

According to a police report, Sean McNeeley, 44, said he put the handgun in his carry-on but forgot to take it out and store it in his vehicle.

An officer discovered the weapon when the bag went through the x-ray machine around 9 a.m. on Thursday.

McNeeley said he was headed to Japan to visit his brother for the holiday.
