NELSON TWP., Ohio — The Portage County Sheriff has asked the public for help in tracking down a man who allegedly caused an elderly woman to break a hip during an aggravated burglary.

The man, who had his face covered with a knit cloth, knocked on the victim’s door in the 11200 block of SR 88 in Nelson Twp. around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

When the 87-year-old woman answered, the man allegedly shoved her, causing her to fall and suffer the break.

The man then went into the home and took an undisclosed amount of money from the woman’s purse, the Portage County Sheriff’s Office said.

The area was searched but the man was not located.

Anyone with information should call the Portage County Sheriff’s Office at (330) 296-5100.
