WESTLAKE-- FOX 8 is going west!  Don't worry; we are not moving. We are just expanding our news operation by adding a FOX 8 studio to better serve our viewers who live west of Cleveland.

When you think of Crocker Park in Westlake, you think of restaurants, luxury apartments, retail stores and of course plenty of shopping.  Now you can think of something else, "Cleveland's own FOX 8 News."

"We're very excited about it and you know we are always looking to improve and expand and this is a way for us to reach out to our west side viewers to do a better job," said FOX 8 General Manager, Greg Easterly.

Beginning in the near future, FOX 8 will add the FOX 8 Studios at Crocker Park. We will use the facilities to cover and report on stories and issues that matter most to our viewers living west of the city.

"Crocker is just cool, it's a cool place to be," Easterly said. "It's vibrant. It's a vibrant area for jobs. It's a place where people want to go and they have such good visuals for us to be there and do live coverage with."

"It's going to be great to have you guys here. We're going to have our own hub on the west side for you guys," said Tina Roberts, General Manager of Crocker Park. "Our clientele can see the weather before they come out. You can see live shots of how we are growing and the things we are doing."

The FOX 8 Studios at Crocker Park will be a huge asset for broadcasting the daily news, especially when we're covering a story in Sandusky or Lorain.

"When we have a crew that is covering a story way out west that they can cut down on their drive time and spend more time on the story itself is just a big convenience for us," said Easterly.

"There is a lot of west side news that is in the area that they are going to hear right from here," Roberts said.

The FOX 8 Studio at Crocker Park will be the first of its kind for the shopping venue.

"We're hoping that by FOX 8 having a satellite studio here, we'll be able to get the news on the west side here and bring it to the viewers live from Crocker Park," said Roberts.

FOX 8 viewer, Linda Leek, adds, "I say yes and that is fantastic and I can't wait for them to come."

This weekend, Crocker Park will hold their tree lighting ceremony. Events start at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and Santa Claus will be in attendance.
