Kent Flashes in ‘Top 25’ for First Time in 40 Years

KENT, Ohio — The Kent State Golden Flashes are now ranked in the AP Top 25 football poll for the first time in 40 years.

Kent State University shared the news on its Facebook page this morning. The Cleveland Browns’ Josh Cribbs even tweeted a message to the team: “Oh yeah my Golden Flashes Ranked #25 in the AP Poll keep balling out!!!!”

The football team is at 9-1 overall this year and is at 6-0 in Mid-Conference play. According to Kent State University, the last time the team was on the list was Nov. 5, 1973.

They’ll play against Bowling Green next week for the Mid-American Conference East Division title.

The Flashes beat Miami University Saturday 48-32.
