Jermaine Jackson, one of six brothers who made up The Jackson Five and later The Jacksons, is making a big career change.

Jermaine has formally filed a request to change his last name from Jackson to “Jacksun” at the L.A. County Superior Court Monday, according to TMZ. Legal documents say Jackson wants to change his name for “artistic reasons” not listed in the request.

The change is not yet official and a hearing has been scheduled with a judge. According to the article, Jackson must go through a series of steps before being approved for the change including having it printed in a local publication.

Jermaine, along with brothers Jackie, Marlon, Tito, Michael and later Randy, started his entertainment career in the 1960s.
