Should Santa Give up Smoking?

There are many references to Santa’s pipe in the most traditional Christmas classics.

But now, one woman wants him to kick the habit … so she cut it right out of a new version of A Visit from St. Nicholas.

Some critics argue that the new, smoke-free Santa is taking politically correctness too far, and wonder what else could be altered in the 189-year-old poem.

The author, however, who nixed Kris Kringle’s pipe says it’s time to set a good example for kids.
