MACEDONIA, Ohio -- Police in Macedonia are searching for two men who robbed a local convenience store at gunpoint and tied up the clerk.

Surveillance pictures show two men walking into the Speedway gas station on East Highland Road in Macedonia around 10:40 p.m. on Thursday.

Police say one of them showed a silver gun and robbed the clerk of an unknown amount of money.

"Very terrifying, had to be... it's very scary," said Macedonia resident Frank Zafarana.

According to police, both men were between 5-foot-9 and six feet tall, weighing between 200 and 210 pounds.

One had on black or navy blue work pants, dark-colored boots, a black hooded sweatshirt and a knit hat.

The other man was wearing dark jeans, tan boots and a gray hooded sweatshirt and had a dark-colored mask over his face.

"I was just shocked, I was shocked that something like that happened in this neighborhood, I've been coming here for about seven years and I've never know anything bad like that to happen.  Just, like, really shocking that there's so much crime nowadays," said Zafarana.

"A lot more crime going on. You would've never heard of some store getting robbed around here ten years ago, to me it's a sign of change of times I guess," said Macedonia resident Daniel Shepard.

Investigators say after the men took the cash from the register, one of them tied the clerk's hands together and left him in a back storage room.

The clerk also heard one of the men yell the other's name during the robbery.

"As many people that drive through here and stuff, you never know who could get you and then be right on the highway and be gone in some direction before anyone even knows," Shepard said.
