VALENCIA, California — A teenager is hospitalized after an accident at a water park in California.

A spokeswoman at the park says the 19-year-old cut in line and dove head-first down the Venom Drop slide at Six Flags Hurricane Harbor.

Halfway down the slide, the teen fell off. It’s not clear how far he fell, but the Venom Drop is part of a 75-foot multiple slide tower.

The teen was taken to the hospital, where he was reportedly conscious and breathing on his own.

Lifeguards tell riders to go down the slide feet first with ankles crossed and their arms across their chests.
