Man Charged After Allegedly Attempting to Abduct Girls

MEDINA, Ohio — A man was arrested and charged for allegedly attempting to abduct two young girls Monday.

Montville police say You B. Yang, 39, of Medina, attempted to abduct two 12-year-old girls riding their bicycles near Ralph Waite Elementary School just before 3:30 p.m. The victims say Yang greeted them and asked if they needed a ride, which they declined. He then followed the girls in his vehicle and demanded they get inside. The girls fled on their bicycles and contacted the police.

Police say they quickly located Yang and the vehicle based on the victims’ descriptions in the Cobblestone Park neighborhood. He was arrested and charged with criminal child enticement and taken to Medina County Jail.

The date of his first court appearance has yet to be set.
