BRUNSWICK, Ohio — The Mentor Cardinals have had Brunswick’s number for five years, and they showed why Friday night with a convincing victory at Judy Kirsch Field.

Mentor senior quarterback Mitch Trubisky returned to the form that made him the FOX-8 Player of the Year in 2011. The University of North Carolina recruit completed 18 of 22 passes for 298 yards and five touchdowns. He also added 68 yards and another score on the ground, as Mentor blasted Brunswick, 49-21.

The Cardinals improve to 5-1 with the win, and 1-0 in the Northeast Ohio Conference.

Brunswick slips to 4-2 overall, 0-1 in the NEO.
