Chick-fil-A To Stop Anti-Gay Support

Chick-fil-A will no longer give money to anti-gay organizations, according to a lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender advocacy group.

The Los Angeles Times reports that the group, The Civil Rights Agenda, had a meeting with Chick-fil-A. According to the group, the fast food chicken chain agreed to stop donating to groups such as Focus on the Family and the National Organization for Marriage. Those groups oppose same-sex marriage.

Earlier this summer, the Atlanta company’s president, Dan Cathy, said in an interview that his business supported “the biblical definition of the family unit.”

Supporters rallied around Cathy and his remarks in early August with a “Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day” while protestors gathered outside stores.
