1 Dead, 1 Hurt in East Side Shooting

CLEVELAND — A man is dead, another injured in a shooting on Cleveland’s east side.

Cleveland police responded to reports of a shooting on East 156th Street and the 15600 block of Damon Avenue at approximately 8:40 p.m. Monday.

Police say a 20-year-old male victim received multiple gunshot wounds to the torso and was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center, where he later died. Another victim was shot in the arm and taken to Euclid General Hospital in a private vehicle.

Witnesses say the victims were approached by three men with guns who chased and shot at the victims. After firing the shots the suspects fled the scene.

Police are investigating the incident as a homicide, and the official cause of death will be determined by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office.
