Condition Improves for Girl Injured in Hit-Skip

CLEVELAND — The condition of a 12-year-old girl hurt in a hit-and-run accident Friday evening has been upgraded to fair.

It happened at West 31st Street and Denison Avenue. Witnesses said a black SUV hit the girl, tossing her about 30 feet from where she was crossing the street with friends.

They said she lay motionless until emergency crews arrived on scene and transported her to MetroHealth Medical Center.

Cleveland police are still searching for the driver and a black SUV with a broken windshield and front-end damage from the accident.

Anyone with information on the driver or the vehicle is asked to call the Cleveland Police Accident Investigation Unit at 216-623-5295.
