Coast Guard Rescues Dragon Boat Race Crew

CLEVELAND — Rescue workers with the Coast Guard Station in Cleveland Harbor were busy rescuing boaters at the Dragon Boat races in Lake Erie Saturday.

The Coast Guard reports one rescue at 11:30 a.m. involved at least 20 people aboard a boat, and another that began to sink at approximately 12:35 p.m. after striking a breakwall. Crews rescued three from the capsized boat, while the other 17 were able to swim back to shore. They also say everyone aboard were wearing life jackets.

No injuries were reported in the sinking incident.
