5th Arrest Made in Death of Girl, 14

CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Division of Police announced on Thursday a fifth suspect was arrested, accused of firing into a crowd and killing a 14-year-old girl.

At the time of this report, Jeffrey L. McWhorter, Jr., 20 (pictured right), was being held in the Central Prison Unit awaiting charges.

McWhorter was wanted for aggravated murder in the shooting death of Lataevia Williams.

She was shot in the neck shortly before midnight on July 28 when a fight erupted outside of 1332 East 125th Street in Cleveland.

According to the Cleveland Division of Police, multiple shooters fired into a crowd.

Four other people have already been arrested.
