EUCLID — The Cleveland police told Fox 8 News a wrong way driver traveling near the Cleveland-Euclid border was involved in several collisions on I-90 shortly after 4 p.m. on Saturday.

The driver, an 86-year-old woman, died of injuries sustained in the crash. Police say the woman was traveling eastbound between downtown Cleveland and Bratenahl in a 2009 Ford Fusion when she struck a total of four vehicles. She was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center with severe injuries, and died shortly thereafter.

ODOT closed the westbound lanes of the highway near E. 185th Street while crews cleared the scene. Drivers were advised to take alternate routes.

Cleveland EMS confirmed it transported two people involved in the accident to MetroHealth Medical Center and one person to Hillcrest Hospital.

The injured occupants of the other vehicles have since been treated and released.
