Friday Night Touchdown: Thursday Edition saw the first high school football games of the 2012 season.

Canton Glen Oak welcomed Firestone to town.  The Eagles were playing for the first time in a long time without running back Bri'onte Dunn, he's playing at Ohio State.

No Dunn, no problem.  The Eagles had quarterback Reid Worstell who led Glen Oak right down the field before halftime.  He hit receiver Jaevon Johnson and Maverick Sales to put the Eagles inside the Firestone 35-yard line.

Worstell finished off the half and the drive by hitting Jake Tisevich in the end zone to give Glen Oak a 28-0 halftime.  The Eagles added 16 more in the second half and beat Firestone 44-7.

Over at Marlington High School, the Dukes entertained the Poland Bulldogs.  This was a defensive battle all game.

Some of the highlights included a nice punt return by the Bulldogs' Anthony Marchionda.  His return set up Poland near midfield, but Marlington's defense would force a punt.

The Dukes found some rhythm on offense from quarterback Shawn Kirk who darted 60-yards to the Poland 47-yard line, but once again, a defensive play ended the drive.

Kirk was picked off by Tad Duran and Marlington hangs on to beat Poland 10-3 to open the season.
