A hotel in the Lake District of England has replaced the standard copy of the Gideon Bible in every room with a copy of Fifty Shades of Grey.

Hotelier Jonathan Denby explained the reasoning in his blog, saying, “no one reads (the bible) and many dislike (it) in the bedside cabinet of our hotel bedrooms.”

He noted that although he has never read ‘Fifty Shades of Grey,’ everyone else wants to read it.

The Damson Dene Hotel will keep several copies of the Gideon Bible to be made available upon request.

The other copies will be donated.

E.L. James’ wildly popular Fifty Shades of Grey is the first installment of a trilogy noted for its racy storyline that explores BDSM: bondage, discipline, sadism, masochism.
