EDMOND, Okla. — Kerry Johnson brings his family to Arcadia Lake for fishing, food and fellowship.

He said the quiet can turn chaotic for weekenders at Central State Park when some campers over indulge.

Johnson said, “We hear them whooping and hollering, carrying on. Edmond police patrol regularly. Once they come around it quiets down real quick.”

Police said Nicholas Bimber went on an alcohol-fueled rampage Saturday.

According to the police report, the 27-year-old man was “very intoxicated and belligerent” and was asked to leave several campgrounds.

He was eventually escorted away, “fell to the ground and passed out.”

Edmond Police Spokesperson Jenny Monroe said, “They thought everything was over for the evening, that he went to sleep it off. Suddenly a black Jeep came roaring through the campsite. He attempted to run over them with his Jeep.”

Despite extensive front-end damage to the car, the campers all escaped injury.

Police said Bimber left but wasn’t gone for long.

As authorities were conducting their investigation, one cop yelled, “Look out! Here he comes again!”

They all jumped out of the way to avoid getting hit.

Police were eventually able to corral a bloodied Nicholas Bimber, tow away his now inoperable vehicle and let other campers return to the tranquility of Arcadia Lake.
