Prince Fielder Declared Home Run Derby Champion

KANSAS CITY-  It was a clash of the titans in Kansas City, Monday night. Many of
baseball’s best sluggers competed in the Home Run Derby, a prelude to the All-Star
game that will be played on Tuesday night.

The field whittled down through two grueling rounds and some impressive power
displays. Prince Fielder of the Detroit Tigers and Jose Bautista of the Toronto Blue Jays
survived to compete in the final round. Fielder won, hitting 12 homers to Bautista’s

Fielder is the second player to with the Home Run Derby twice. He joins future Hall
of Famer Ken Griffey, Jr., who won it three times.

The All-Star Game, featuring Cleveland Indians stars, Asdrubal Cabrera and Chris
Perez can be seen on Fox 8 on Tuesday evening.
