Ceremony Recalls Cleveland Police, Firefighters to Duty

CLEVELAND -- A number of Cleveland police officers and firefighters took the Oath of Office on Monday as some returned to duty from laid off status and others received promotions.

Mayor Frank Jackson administered the oath at City Hall at 8:30 a.m. on Monday.

According to the Cleveland Divisions of Police and Fire, 24 patrol officers and eight firefighters returned to duty.

An additional eight police officers and seven firefighters were promoted to supervisory positions.
