CONCORD TWP., Ohio -- The ribbon’s been cut and tickets are on sale for the 2012 YMCA Dream House giveaway in Lake County.

This is the 19th year for the incredible fundraiser.

Each time, a house is built from the ground up and decorated with top of the line furnishings.

Tickets cost $13 for the drawing on August 15, 2012. Twenty names will be drawn and each will get a key to the house.

On August 19, the finalists will try their key on the front door and one person will win the grand prize.

This year, the 2,800 square ft. house is located at the corner of Cambden and Dobbins Way in Concord Twp.

The two-story home built by W.R. Dawson Homes has four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a two-car garage, large walk-in closets and massive great room with vaulted ceilings.

“It’s absolutely gorgeous,” said Co-Chair Karen Krauss. “Ten design firms and 13 designers do their best to make this house spectacular.”

The kitchen has top-of-the-line appliances and a double oven. The basement is beautifully finished and furnished.

There is also a see-through fireplace that takes your eye from inside the great room to the great outdoors.

This year, there is a spa room upstairs complete with a massage table and custom art work throughout.

Co-Chair Kate Weaver created most of the artwork, and finished a half bath with custom illustrations and Swarovski Crystals sparkling and embedded in the ceiling.

“What I do is start with an idea or theme and go from there,” said Weaver.

All of the money raised from the giveaway goes to the YMCA to help with improvements and provide services for people in need.

They hope to sell about 60,000 tickets.

Krauss says, “They are from all over. There were people who bought tickets from outside of Ohio and we’ve had people buy tickets from Australia, so it’s huge.”
