My Town: Blue Tip Festival in Wadsworth

WADSWORTH, Ohio –  A giant blue-tipped match will be burning in downtown Wadsworth for the next few days as the town celebrates the annual Blue Tip Festival.  Now through Saturday, June 23 you can enjoy amusement rides, festival food, midway games, contests, classic car show, live music and other performances. All events take place in Memorial Park which is just west of downtown.

Children can make crafts, have their faces painted and enjoy balloon animals in Kids Land.  There are also kiddie rides for the little ones.

The Blue Tip Festival is named after the blue tip matches which were were manufactured in Wadsworth until the 1980s.  Each year, money raised from the event is donated to various non-profit groups in the community.

Festival Hours

  • Wednesday, June 20 – 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, June 21 – 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
  • Friday, June 22 – 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, June 23 – 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
